Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar

Department of Surgery, King Edward Medical University and Surgical Oncology Society of Pakistan (SOS-PK), on Saturday organized a seminar on breast cancer awareness. Professor Asad Aslam, Vice Chancellor, King Edward Medical University  was the chief guest. Experts highlighted the importance of early diagnosis and proper treatment to save womenfolk from future complications.

Addressing the participants, Professor Asad Aslam said the early diagnose of breast cancer could save victims from many complications. Professor Muhammad Arshad Cheema, Chairman Department of Surgery, King Edward Medical University and President of Surgical Oncology Society of Pakistan (SOS-PK), said females feeling lump in breast feel no pain initially and they need to go to Doctor immediately. He informed that a Breast Clinic in Room 15 of Outpatient Department of Mayo Hospital is set up for screening, diagnosis and treatment of Breast Cancer.
Dr. Zahid Pervez, Medical Superintendent, Mayo Hospital, said a Mammography machine will be installed in Mayo Hospital in 3 months time.
Professor Sadaqat Ali Khan, Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, Professor Abu Fazal. Professor Zafar Ali Chaudhry, Professor Farrah Asghar and Dr. Raas Masood also addressed the seminar.
